The Broadway Musical Review is a fundraiser for building renovations and maintenance of the historic 1915 James McCabe Theatre in Valrico. The Village Players have spent the last five years working on the renovations, but there is still much work to be done.

Village Players Artistic Director, Domin Pazo, has put together several Broadway reviews, all of which have been well received. Pazo said, “The difference between a Broadway review and a musical is that with a Broadway review, the voice is the most important. An actor does not have to worry about their lines or other actors, and they can concentrate on the delivery of the song.” Pazo added, “Also, it is not restricted to just one writer or composer. You get more of a variety of songs both classic and popular.”

Gail Pierce, The Village Players Producer said, “A director of a musical review does not follow a script. He makes up the show and determines which songs to use and in which order. This is a skill that you develop over time.” Pierce added, “Pazo has been involved in theatre for over 30 years. He has directed and acted. He seems to have a knack of putting together musical reviews and draws some incredibly talented voices to our stage.”

With the help of the community, The Village Players have accomplished a lot of renovation projects, but there is still a lot of work to do on the historical building and they need your help. You can help through your donation of money or time. The Village Players is a non-profit arts organization, so your donations are tax deductible.
