Hebrews 13:16 says, “Do not neglect to do good and share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.” Bell Shoals Baptist Church of Brandon’s outreach ministry, Real Hope Ministry has made it their mission to do good and share with those in need in the community. “The purpose of the Real Hope Ministry is to reach out to those in our community walking through a season of need with real hope and new life that is found in Christ,” said Debbie Weisemann, Minister of Community Outreach for Bell Shoals Baptist Church. “The ministry physically helps support them by providing food and toiletries through the food pantry.”

The Real Hope Ministry food pantry is open every Wednesday from 12 p.m. – 2 p.m. The ministry has helped more than 680 families since opening its doors this past February.
“Lighthouse Ministries provides 100 boxes of food each month and our church families help provide additional boxes of food and needed toiletries to serve the families,” Weisemann said.

Weisemann said she and the ministry’s volunteers have seen God do many miracles through the Real Hope Ministry. “He has answered many specific prayers to include people finding jobs, marriages restored, comfort for those that are grieving, and most of all, a place where people can come and find a listening ear, an open heart and a friend.”

Weisemann hopes those who come to the outreach ministry will find a place filled with hope through the love of Christ. “In addition to supplying food and a place where people can come to find encouragement, we also want to connect them to ongoing programs and resources that will help meet their needs and ultimately help them to become self-sufficient,” Weisemann said.
