On Veteran’s Day from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., The Creative Artist Gallery will host a charitable event Art Show called American Heroes. Owner Vanessa Martin from The Creative Artist Gallery mentioned that this show will be dedicated to those who have served and continue to serve. Ten percent of proceeds from sales will go towards The Art Therapy Program at the James A. Haley Veterans’ Hospital in Tampa.

This program specifically works with Veterans who suffer from brain injuries, physical injuries and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Through art, the program provides another outlet for the Veterans to cope with their emotions. Also, the program does not possess a budget for supplies and operates through donations.

To assist with raising more funds, The Creative Artist Gallery will create an online fundraiser through Facebook and do raffles as well. Along with that, Love Coffee Inc. and The Noise Box will be the business sponsors for the art show. With commitment to promote own material, businesses will not be charged to have their logo or information incorporated into The Creative Artist Gallery website and Facebook page.

“The funds raised from the art show will be utilized to purchase art supplies for the Veterans in this program,” Martin said.

All types of mediums such as photography, painting and much more will be accepted in the American Heroes Art Show. Veterans from the program and other artists in the community can participate. With limited space available artists can submit up to three pieces. Submissions must be family friendly and original work. Cost to enter will be $10 per person or three for $20. Also, art drop off dates will be from November 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 8th and 9th.

“I would love to see people come out and support this cause,” Martin said.
