Staff Report

What could be better than spending time on a Saturday getting to shop for gift certificates, gift baskets, useful items and maybe find that special item you just need to have? Where can you do this and not feel bad about spending the money because you know that all the monies raised through your purchases will benefit a worthy organization?

The Bloomingdale High School Rajun’ Bull Band Auction is making coming back. After taking a hiatus for a few years, it makes its return on Saturday, March 4 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Bloomingdale Senior High School, 1700 E. Bloomingdale Ave. in Valrico.

“The Rajun’ Bull Band decided to bring back the spring auction because of its popularity with our band family and friends, as well as the community,” remarked Suzanne Jones, Band Booster President. “The auction also provides exciting ways for the students to get involved, both in gathering donations and on the day of the event. It promises to be a fun event for anyone attending.”

Multiple raffles will take place during the entire event. A silent auction will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. with many themed baskets to bid on along with items such as entertainment, sports, dinner/restaurants, home services, and much more. At 6 p.m. when the silent auction ends, the live auction begins. Items in this category will have a value of $500 or more. The auction will end at 8 p.m. Refreshments and desserts will be available throughout the evening.

All proceeds from the auction go directly back to the Bloomingdale Rajun’ Bull Band and Crimson Guard so they can continue the excellent work they have been doing for the past 30 years. Maintaining an organization of over 250 students takes considerable commitments of time and money. Monies raised help pay for upcoming trips and maintenance of uniforms and instruments.

If anyone or business would like to make a donation for the auction, please contact Dann Berkowitz at bdalebandboosters@gmail.com. Some items of interest are event tickets, electronics, gift cards/gift certificates, home services, vacation items, relaxation and self care packages, and family activities. The Bloomingdale Band Boosters is a tax exempt organization and your donation will be tax deductible.
Everyone is welcome to attend. There will be something for everyone including great gift ideas that you can purchase to use throughout the year.
