Brandon family law attorney Vanessa Bevington recently received an honor that sets her apart from other professionals in her field. The partner at Carman and Bevington P.A. was selected to the Super Lawyers 2017 Rising Star list, a distinction given to less than two and a half percent of lawyers in the state.

Bevington, who got her law degree from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Michigan and started practicing in 2006, was nominated for the list by her peers and was then selected by the research team at Super Lawyers, a rating service of outstanding lawyers, to receive the honor using a multi-level process including a statewide survey of lawyers and an independent research evaluation of candidates.

The Super Lawyer lists are published nationwide in Super Lawyer Magazines and feature lawyers from 70 different practice areas.

“This award is a great honor,” said Bevington. “It means a lot to me to be recognized by my peers and to know that not only my clients appreciate my hard work.”

Bevington, who is a member of the Florida Bar, the Middle District of Florida, the Hillsborough County Bar Association and the Brandon Bar Association, works on family law matters, while her partner, Allen Carman handles personal injury cases. Bevington has worked on cases ranging from divorce and pre-nuptial agreements to child support and paternity issues and domestic violence cases.

“We really get to know our clients and work hard to resolve their issues for them,” said Bevington. “Our firm is very personable in the sense that when you hire me, you are going to get me working on your case from start to finish.”

In addition to working hard for her clients, Bevington also strives to be an active part of the Brandon community. She works with local charities including Metropolitan Ministries and the Salvation Army and has participated in a mission trip to Haiti.

Carman and Bevington, P.A. is located at 223 Lithia Pinecrest Rd. and can be reached at 654-3444. For more information, visit www.brandonlegal.com or contact the office for a free initial consultation. To learn more about the Super Lawyers Rising Star list, visit www.superlawyers.com.
