The Tampa Theatre is proud to announce that its 6th Annual Movie-themed Beer Festival, also known as BeerFest, will be held on Saturday, June 24 from 7 to 10 p.m. at the historic Tampa Theatre located at 711 N. Franklin St. in downtown Tampa. BeerFest 2017 will be kicking ales and taking names with a fun movie-themed night, Barley’s Angels.

As with previous beer-soaked, tongue-in-cheek BeerFest events like The Brews Brothers, The Big Lebowski and Hoppy Gilmore, Barley’s Angels will feature craft beers and local Brewers, plus snacks and samples from some of Tampa’s top independent restaurants.

Co-chairs, Michelle Baker of The Refinery and Fodder and Shine and Veronica Danko of The Independent Bar and Cafe, have put together a fantastic line up of breweries and independent restaurants. The breweries include 7venth Sun Brewery, Brew Bus Brewing and Coppertail Brewing Company, Crooked Thumb Brewing, Escape Brewing Company, Florida Avenue Brewing Company and Motorworks Brewing. The restaurants include Anise Global Gastrobar, Datz, Ella’s Americana Folk Art Café, Fodder and Shine, The Independent and The Refinery.

While the theme of the event is funny and silly, BeerFest’s purpose is most serious. Now in its 6th year, the annual fundraiser is one of the Tampa Theatre’s favorite fundraisers.

Jill Witecki with the Tampa Theatre said, “The party will spill out onto Franklin St., where there will be live music, more beer and photos with Barley’s Angels, Amber, Blondie, Honey and other entertainers, courtesy of Busch Gardens.” Witecki added, “BeerFest guests are invited to get into the spirit by dressing in their favorite Charley’s Angels character or in a costume inspired by the movie.”

A limited-capacity premium sampling begins at 7 p.m. and tickets are $70. Grand sampling ticket holders can enter at 8 p.m., and tickets are $45. Tickets are available at the Tampa a Theatre Box Office or online at www.tampatheatre.org (a $2 convenience fee applies to online sales).
