Don’s Bay Area Painting Inc. recently announced that it will paint the exterior of a local hero’s home for free as a token of appreciation for their service and commitment. The local-based company needs your help to identify which hero in our community will receive the recognition and the free house painting.

It was 15 years ago this November when Don Murray set out to follow his dream to be a professional painter.

Murray said, “Our community is full of people that have committed their lives to serving our country and our community. We want to do our part and give back to those that have given so much.”

It was the sacrifice of our hometown heroes who gave up their dreams that gave local painters like Murray and other small business owners the chance to follow their dreams.

Painting a home in Florida is not only for curb appeal to get a home ready to sell. Murray explained that homes in Florida are most susceptible to costly repairs due to weather, insect and other damage, which can be avoided by properly maintaining the exterior of the home. Too often, Tampa homeowners fail to repair stucco cracks, seal joint cracks or replace wood rot. Painting a home by a licensed painting contractor not only keeps your home looking fresh, but ensures that these common issues are fixed before they cause costly damage to the home.

For a veteran or a retired first responder with a fixed retirement income, the expense to properly maintain a home in Florida can become too costly. Murray believes there is someone in the community that has a need without the means. He wants to use his painting company to meet the need.

To apply visit http://donsbayareapainting.com/free-house-painting-giveaway from veterans of U.S. armed forces, retired first responders such as police officers, firefighters and paramedics and their widows in order to be considered for the free exterior house repaint giveaway. The paint will be donated by Porter Paints.

The deadline to submit an entry is 11:59 pm EST on December 31 and the winner will be announced on January 15, 2018. Murray said heroes who qualify, but are not the officially selected hero, will be eligible to receive a discount to repaint their house.
