Know the Rules for Watering Lawn Treatments

Do you use a lawn company to fertilize your yard or spray it for weeds and bugs? If it’s been awhile since the last time you hired out this service, you might not be aware that the window of time has narrowed for watering in chemical treatments applied by a professional company. The old rule was 48 hours. The new rule is that professionally-applied treatments can be watered in according to manufacturer’s instructions within 24 hours following application, before 8 a.m. or after 6 p.m. A dated chemical advisory marker must be clearly posted in the yard. If you live in unincorporated Hillsborough County, violating the restrictions means a fine of $100 for the first offense, $200 for the second and so on, leading up to $500 for the fifth and succeeding violations.

Replace worn or poorly-fitting toilet flappers, which can waste up to 200 gallons a day.
