Sweet treats like English scones and chocolate jumble cookies are just a couple of the dozens of items that are sold during annual StrawBerry Ridge Art and Craft Fair hosted by the community’s sewing club. The event scheduled for later this month, as in the past, will support LifePath Hospice.

The StrawBerry Ridge Craft and Sewing Club is again ready to support LifePath Hospice by hosting its annual Craft Fair.
The event is scheduled for Saturday, October 23, from 9 a.m. -1 p.m., and will be held at the community’s clubhouse, located at 3419 S.R. 60 in Valrico.
According to fair chairman Terry Bobb and coordinator Irene Ebert, the show will consist of various crafts, which all have to be homemade by residents of StrawBerry Ridge.
Bobb explained that the StrawBerry Ridge Craft and Sewing Club has been a huge part of financially supporting its residents for the past 16 years, with proceeds supporting LifePath Hospice, which regularly serves the community.
“The fair is open to all and is also a great way to show off residents’ talents and desire to contribute to supporting a good cause,” Ebert said.
Raggedy Ann dolls, tote bags, wood craft, fabric children’s books, Afghans, floral arrangements, floral wreaths, holiday ornaments, coasters, crocheted items, fragrance jars and jewelry, just to name a few, will all take center stage during the event.
A raffle table will be available with all proceeds going to LifePath Hospice. The club was proud of last year’s event, which generated more than $250.
“Some of our residents do not have insurance and this charity truly helps them,” Bobb said.
Although scheduled just once a year, the craft fair continues to be a fine testimony to the community’s active-minded focus and reputation of social and recreational activities, promoted by its residents, who, in turn, experience the healthful benefits of the community’s therapy spa and fitness center or enjoy a game of shuffleboard. For others, a visit with friends at the clubhouse completes the day.

As part of the fall festivities StrawBerry Ridge will also present its annual Trash to Treasure Sale on Saturday, October 16, from 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the clubhouse.
The event will feature a bake sale and luncheon sponsored by the Ladies Auxiliary in addition to many tables of treasures for all to browse.
