The Greater Brandon Community Foundation and the Florida State Fair Authority invite you to participate in the 2012 An Evening of Hope & Charity Check Presentation on Saturday, November 3. The event begins with a VIP cocktail reception at 6 p.m., followed by the program and dinner at 7 p.m. It is being held at the Florida Center and Botanical Gardens at the Florida State Fairgrounds.

The annual event, which began in 2006, was the launching point of the Angel Program, a program created to assist families in the Greater Brandon area who have endured a tragedy of some kind in their lives.  “We wanted this program to help families affected by a life threatening disease or a catastrophic event, as many times they didn’t need a charity to help them, but needed some help.  Sometimes it was moral support, sometimes it was helping with various tasks around the house and sometimes it was connecting them to the financial services available that they may not be aware of,” said committee member Liz Brewer.

The committee hopes to raise $50,000 this year while also raising awareness about the Foundation’s work.

The theme this year is “Champions Within” and features guest speaker Olympic diver, Chris Colwill.  Guests will also hear stories from families who have been helped by the Angel program while enjoying a delicious dinner that will be catered on site by Outback Steakhouse and Carrabba’s Italian Grill.  A Christmas-themed silent auction will be held in conjunction with the dinner.  Sponsors for the evening include The Tampa Tribune, Osprey Observer, Center Place, Outback Steakhouse, FishHawk Ranch, Carrabba’s Italian Grill, and the Florida State Fairgrounds.

Individual tickets can be purchased for $25 and include the cocktail reception and dinner.  Sponsorship opportunities are still available as a $500 or $1000 Table Champion Opportunity.  More information can be found on the Website at www.Brandonfoundation.com or by calling the office at 689-6889. Tickets can also be ordered by emailing info@brandonfoundation.com.
