Pet Sunday on October 21

On Sunday, October 21, pets will be top dog at Calvary Lutheran Church in Apollo Beach, and the community is invited to attend. Known as Pet Sunday, the event provides access to several animal resources, including dog and cat adoptions, valuable pet care information and local volunteer opportunities. This year’s participants include Apollo Beach Cats, Humane Society of Tampa Bay, C.A.R.E animal shelter, and Save our Pets, among others.

In 2011, Calvary’s inaugural Pet Sunday resulted in several pet adoptions and more than 1,200 pounds of donated pet food, prompting it to become an annual celebration of our furry friends. All donations went to local animal shelters and organizations.

Pet Sunday is a free event and is open to everyone. It will be held from 8:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m. on the grounds of Calvary Lutheran Church, located at 5301 U.S. Hwy. 41 N. in Apollo Beach (the corner of U.S. Hwy. 41 and 12th St.). Donations of wet or dry pet food will be gratefully accepted.

Calvary offers Sunday worship services at 8, 9:40 and 11:15 a.m. For more information, visit calvarylutheranchurch.net.
