Would a personal trainer help motivate and push you to achieve a better level of fitness? While a one- on-one personal trainer might be too expensive, MAX Results, a new Group Personal Training program at the Campo Y might be exactly what you need.

Associate VP of Wellness & Sports, Maureen “Mo” Chiodini, who has her masters in Exercise Physiology and Public Health, is passionate about this new program. Campo Y is the first to provide it, but plans are in the works to expand to at least three other Y’s in the Tampa Metro area. “These classes will empower you to achieve your own personal goals” said Chiodini.

This program is for someone who is really serious about taking their personal training program to another level.

Taking place in the current Rock Climbing room, the classes are taught in a small group setting of approximately six people per class. Since results tend to decrease when the body gets used to the same types of exercise all the time, the workouts constantly change for maximum results.

Chiodin’s personal philosophy is that “playing” is more fun than “working” and she loves the toys that the fitness industry has created.  Personally, she is very motivated by other people pushing her and holding her accountable. Chiodini said, “I love exercising in a group. What we also know is people are much more successful at attaining their wellness goals if they have groups to work out with. They feel motivated and accountable to their friends. Every now and then even the best athletes need a little push.”

Each class focuses on the entire body, but in different ways. Some of the classes offered are RIP: 60 Strength, Shred & Shed, Y Cross, HIT, Kettle Bell Core and more. During the classes, you will also learn about nutrition portion control.

Currently, there are classes in the morning (starting at 5:15 a.m.) and then repeat again in the evening (starting at 5:30 p.m.) Most classes are one hour in length, but some of them are express 30-minute classes. The introductory rates are 10 classes for $100. More classes will be added after the New Year.

You do have to be a member of the Y. Campo Y is located at 3414 Culbreath Rd. in Valrico. For more information on Y programs, call 684-1371.
