After almost three decades at the same location, Brandon’s one-of-a-kind parent, teacher supply store known for its one-stop shop for all teaching supplies and learning tools status, Teachers’ Helper is changing location.

Leaving its old 109 Margaret St. location, the store will occupy a new 3,000 sq. ft. building located at 622 Oakfield Dr. in Brandon only a few blocks away from the old spot.

Former long-time school teacher, Shearon Bailey, who took over ownership of the shop in 2005, said that the move, which was scheduled to take place over Thanksgiving week, is not only a good time for the switch, but also a much-welcomed improvement for the business and for the benefit of its long-time, loyal customers.

“We have been here for 28 years,” Bailey said, adding that while Teachers’ Helper served the needs of both parents as well as teachers quite well, it can use a bit more space. “The new store will provide all the room we need and more, including a class room to host local study groups or workshops.

With its current 13,000 item inventory, which Bailey said is the low end of the spectrum, the Brandon-based teaching supply store claims the sporting of the most comprehensive selection of classroom materials, back to school supplies and educational tools for students of all ages.

From learning games and lesson plans to banners and bulletin boards, we offer a variety of teaching supplies and resources to help make learning fun for everyone.

Teachers and parent, home schoolers, day care professionals and other educators are encouraged to take advantage of coupons and special discounts that provide great savings to parents, teachers, throughout the entire school year.

Teachers’ Helper serves the community with the help of three full time and two part-time employees, all of whom, along with other family members, will lend a hand to clear out the old place and get the new one ready for the morning business on Monday, November 26.

Bailey said that a grand reopening is also planned for later this year.

Store hours are from Monday – Friday: 9 a.m. – 6 p.m., and on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.
