Buckhorn Springs Golf and Country Club recently underwent major renovations. The course is emerging as one of Eastern Hillsborough County’s premier golf courses.

Janine Nickerson, Vice President of the Community Roundtable said, “This golf tournament is a tradition that began with Lee Elam and his desire to assist local charities. The Community Roundtable is developing ideas and setting goals to better serve the greater Brandon area. One of the ways that we do this is by donating a portion of the proceeds from this event to the 2013 Non-Profit of the Year, the GFWC Brandon Service League.”

The Community Roundtable was established in 1957. It was previously known as the Presidents’ Roundtable. The primary goal of the organization is to help local charities.

The Community Roundtable is also responsible for holding many events throughout the year including the annual Honorary Mayor’s Race, the Fourth of July Parade (which is the biggest in the state of Florida), Cards For Troops, Halloween Horribles Parade and the Lighting of the Christmas Tree.
