The Brandon League of Fine Arts has issued a Call For Artists for ARTWORKS 2013. The show is open to all area artists who wish to submit original art that has been completed since September 2010. The deadline for submission is July 26. The show is juried and judged. There is over $1,000 in prize money available.

Both traditional 2D work and 3D work in mediums such as fiber, ceramics, metal, jewelry, glass and wood are excepted. 2D work must be framed and wired for hanging. 3D work must not exceed 18″Hx10″Wx12″D and not weigh more than three pounds.

Email entries are preferred and should be sent to Chair, Elizabeth Kershaw at elizabethkershaw@earthlink.net.

The chosen artwork will be on display in the Mook Gallery at Center Place of Brandon during the month of September. A reception and awards ceremony will take place on Saturday, September 14 from 5:30 to 7.

Kershaw said, “ARTWORKS is a fine arts showcase for our area’s foremost creative talents.  We encourage entries in painting, drawing, mixed media, photography, sculpture, jewelry, ceramics, and textiles.  We are looking forward to an outstanding September show.”

The judge for ARTWORKS 2013 is Christine Reichow, an award winning watercolor artist. Her work is exhibited throughout the Eastern United States. Reichow’s artwork has been featured in several magazines including “Artist,” Wildlife Art” and “Watercolor Magic.”

ARTWORKS 2013 will once again be the highlight of a day long arts extravaganza known as “The Gallery Hop.” You will not want to miss either the excitement of spending the day “hopping” around the greater Brandon area as you look for art treasures or the excitement of seeing the art and the artists in ARTWORKS 2013.
