Responsible Apostolic Men (R.A.M.) is a Ministry of Men at Calvary Tabernacle Church. This ministry adheres to the biblical principles of James 1:27, “Pure and undefiled religion before God the Father is this: to care for orphans and widows in their misfortune and to keep oneself unstained by the world.”
According to Darrell Green, leader of the ministry, the group has dedicated itself to assisting those in need. R.A.M. has already given itself to assisting with many projects such as helping those in need with no place to turn. Recently, someone brought to their attention an elderly lady on a fixed income who was told by her HOA that her home had to be repainted by a certain time. She was not physically able to handle this big of a project by herself, so the Ministry decided to help her. Gathering 17 men, they arrived on site at 7 a.m. on a recent Saturday morning. With strength in numbers and four-and-a-half hours, they completed the job for her.
The Men’s Group has also helped a family whose house had caught fire. They pressure-washed, replanted landscaping and completed general maintenance to the home to help the owners.
The R.A.M. group is now looking to expand its reach by assisting with transportation. Several of the men in the group are experienced mechanics and are committed to helping people to be able to get back behind the wheel. To that end, R.A.M. Ministries is currently looking for anyone who would like to exchange any mode of transportation (running or not) for a tax deduction.
Please contact R.A.M. at the church office at 986-6000 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
The men of Calvary Tabernacle meet on the third Thursday of each month all across Hillsborough County for dinner and fellowship. For more information on the church, visit www.CalvaryTab.org. Calvary Tabernacle is located at 10930 US Hwy. 301 N in Thonotosassa.
