What started as his first summer job  at the age of 10, under the wing of his grandfather, proved to be much more down the road for FishHawk resident Nick Barron, now owner of Sweetwater Company, a local landscaping business.

“I would ride in my grandfather’s car and he would talk about what he thought would look great in front of the neighborhood looking at the landscaping and natural beauty,” Barron said, taking a brief stroll down memory lane.

While the rides with his grandfather, E. Everette Huskey, the visionary developer of the Orlando area’s first major luxury planned community Sweetwater Oaks, were over, Barron’s passion for making properties look their best remained and led to the start of his own lawn care business just three years later, mowing neighbor’s lawns and taking care of an office park nearby.

“I am grateful for the time I  spent with him as I have learned so much about landscaping as well as working for the Huskey Company’s landscape crew and learn about professionally do lawn maintenance, irrigation, tree trimming and landscaping.

Barron kept his business through high school, then left for college, graduated from FSU in 2004 with two separate Bachelor degrees, one in Economics and one in Accounting and started a career in public accounting with Deloitte and Touche in South Florida , but could not shake the desire to pursue his real passion, which is making people’s homes, and businesses look great.

“In 2009, I went back to doing what I love and started the Sweetwater Company,” Barron said.

Specializing in landscape services, residential and commercial landscape maintenance, landscape consulting, landscape design, installation, irrigation (sprinkler systems), as well a wide variety of tree services, Sweetwater promises the highest customer service and satisfaction.

Barron is also a certified EMT, firefighter and lives in the Garden District with his wife and three children ages four, two and one, all of whom attend FishHawk Fellowship Church.
