October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which is an annual campaign to increase awareness of the disease. Hope Is Contagious is a Ministry of St. Stephen Catholic Church in Valrico and is sponsoring the Project Cure Walk on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at Bloomingdale East Park, 3902 Nature’s Way Blvd .Valrico, Florida.

In 2006, inspired by a need to do something to help stop the number of young lives being taken by this disease and the even greater number being affected a small group of women decided to sign up and do Susan G. Komen walk for Cure. But their plans changed when they found out the Susan G. Komen supported Planned Parenthood. This year we are having our 8th Annual Project Cure walk. In the past 7 years we have raised over $100,000 for the cure of Breast Cancer.

We would like to invite you to participate in the exciting “Project Cure” 20 mile walk. Here are some ways you can support our efforts.

1) Pray for everyone affected by cancer, their families and pray for a cure.

2) Spread the word, tell everyone you know and invite them to participate.

3) Walk, cycle, and donate

4) Volunteer

100% of the profits will be donated to Don and Erika Wallace Comprehensive Breast Program at the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute.

You can walk one mile or 20 miles, Sponsor a walker, be a Corporate Sponsor, Cycle one mile or 20 miles or have your children join the Fun Walk!

Registration can be online or 30 minutes before the events.
