Matt Primrose, manager of Ace Golf in Riverview, has been selected as a U.S. Kids Golf Top 50 Teacher in the United States and has also been selected by the PGA of America as the West Central Chapter Junior Golf Leader. Hundreds of golf professionals were considered for the prestigious awards, and Primrose was chosen for his excellence in junior golf education.

In addition to his role as manager at Ace Golf, he is also a U.S. Kids Golf Certified Instructor.  There are summer golf camps each week and golf clinics held in Riverview each Saturday at 1 and 3 p.m.

U.S. Kids Golf has announced the recipients of the Top 50 Kids Teachers Award, which annually recognizes the world’s most outstanding youth golf instructors. The class of 2013 includes golf professionals from 21 states, Canada, Costa Rica and Mexico, with recipients chosen from a record 747 applicants. U.S. Kids is a leading manufacturer of children’s golf equipment.

“The award was created to help parents find the best coaching for their kids,” said Dan Van Horn, President and CEO of U.S. Kids Golf. “The mission of U.S. Kids Golf is to make the game fun for kids, and the Top 50 Kids Teacher Award is an important part of encouraging golf professionals who are key in supporting us and achieving this mission.”

Since 2004, U.S. Kids Golf has honored golf’s best teachers with the Top 50 Kids Teacher Award. Applicants complete an online survey and winners are chosen based on their contributions to junior golf, such as: time devoted to teaching young golfers; innovation, creativity and fun in their programs; communication; parental involvement; and overall effort to grow the game. Following the U.S. Kids award, Primrose also received the PGA of America’s Junior Golf Leader Award for the PGA Chapter that runs from Sun City to Ocala and west to Lakeland.  Over 100 golf professionals were considered for that award.  To have both the U.S. Kids and PGA award go to the same individual is unusual, further demonstrating his talent in helping kids to learn golf.  Ted Bishop, President of the PGA, announced the award.

Ace Golf Ranges are located at 820 S. Kings Ave. in Brandon and at 12910 Boyette Rd. in Riverview. Both locations are open daily until 10 p.m. and feature 18-acre golf practice ranges, miniature golf and batting cages.  For more information, visit www.ace-golf.com.
