Buncofood20130919_193849Center Place Fine Arts and Civic Association will be hosting a Beach Blanket Bunco For The Arts on Thursday, September 18 beginning at 6:30 p.m. Bunco is a game of dice, luck, social interaction and prizes. This particular bunco will not only be fun, but also a way for the community to support this organization and keep local art alive. A donation of $20 gets attendees dinner, provided by Boston Market, refreshments and several lively rounds of bunco.

There will also be a 50/50 raffle held and at the end of the evening, and five exceptional prizes will be awarded.

No experience is necessary to play this fast moving game of dice, and money raised from the event will help fund the artistic programming at Center Place, including theater, art classes for children and adults.

Dianna Galia, Public Relations Coordinator for Center Place, said, “To keep our doors open to the community, we have to hold events, such as Beach Blanket Bunco For The Arts, to raise money to fund our yearly budget.”

Galia added, “Center Place believes that the arts make a positive difference in our lives, in our children’s lives, and in our community. The arts are much more than just fun ‘extra’ activities for kids. Participation in the arts opens up children’s worlds and minds, and offers them the skills they need for a bright future. The programs at Center Place, through both action and advocacy, work to embed the arts in the fabric of the community.”

Center Place offers high quality art workshops, children’s theatre, dinner theatre, community theatre and more. Each year, Center Place serves over 50,000 people.

Center Place, a 501 (c)(3) non-profit, was established in 1976. Galia said, “Center Place Fine Arts and Civic Association is … committed to providing a cultural center for visual and performing arts, resources for civic organizations, and giving the community easy access to the arts through exhibits, classes and performances.”
