PlazaGreen Boutique couch logoPlaza Bella will hold its Seventh Annual Plaza Bella Goes Pink on Saturday, October 18. Participants can choose either the Diva Strut which runs from Plaza Bella to the Bloomingdale Library and back, or the 5k Challenge Walk which goes from Plaza Bella to Nature’s Way and back. Both walks are led by cancer survivors and both begin at 9 a.m.

The cost is $40 for individuals or $35 per person for a team of five or more. Participants are encouraged to pre-register for the event at The Green Boutique in order to ensure that they will receive a T-shirt and goodie bag as these are only available while supplies last. Select merchants of Plaza Bella contribute to the goodie bags.

For those who wish to honor family and friends who have been afflicted with breast cancer, individuals can donate $5 for a pink ribbon which will line the plaza entrance and part of Bloomingdale Ave.

The Seventh Annual Plaza Bella Goes Pink is 100 percent underwritten by The Green Boutique. No expenses are paid for from proceeds. Walkers can choose to have their funds donated to either the American Cancer Society or the Outreach Clinic (formerly known as the Brandon Outreach Clinic). The Outreach Clinic recently changed its name to reflect the fact that it serves all of East Hillsborough County.

Roz Creager, owner of The Green Boutique said, “This event has far exceeded my expectations. We have been able to donate $100,000 toward the fight against breast cancer. I cannot help but be amazed by the people I have met over the years from the volunteers who come back year after year to help people who are literally fighting for their lives.”

Debbie Meegan, Executive Director of the Outreach Clinic said, “The clinic is thrilled to have the opportunity again this year to be a part of Plaza Bella Goes Pink. The money raised at this year’s fundraiser will go a long way to help our volunteers do what they do best… saving lives every day.”

Following the walks, the festivities will continue with entertainment, raffle drawings and more. Brighton is once again involved having donated raffle items valued at $5,000.

Plaza Bella is located at 1078 Bloomingdale Ave. in Valrico. For more information on this event, call 685-9494.
