Brandon Regional Hospital and All Children’s Specialty Physicians will work together to increase the care provided to newborns and high-risk expectant mothers at Brandon Regional Hospital. Neonatologists and maternal-fetal medicine physicians from All Children’s Specialty Physicians join Brandon Regional Hospital’s medical staff, expanding the specialized care offered to high-risk mothers and infants who require Level III neonatal care – the highest licensed level for neonatal service in Florida.
The experience of All Children’s Hospital Specialty Physicians includes caring for children throughout the West coast of Florida, and bringing this advanced level of experience to Brandon Regional Hospital enables staff to become knowledgeable and experienced in the latest neonatal procedures, tests, treatments and best practices.
“Patients will benefit from the addition of 24-hour, onsite neonatology physicians on staff,” said Francisco Ojeda, MD a neonatologist with All Children’s Specialty Physicians.
This latest development not only strengthens the Level II and Level III neonatal care that has been available at Brandon for many years, but also augments the service offered in Brandon’s Pediatric ER and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.
“At All Children’s Hospital, we feel it is our responsibility and commitment to the community to provide the best care for our youngest patients with complex conditions,” said Jonathan Ellen, M.D., president and physician in chief at All Children’s Hospital and professor of pediatrics and vice dean, All Children’s Hospital at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
Brandon Regional Hospital is an acute care facility offering a number of specialty services including the Heart & Vascular Center, where the latest in cardiovascular surgery and minimally invasive techniques are performed; The Behavioral Health Center; The Women’s Center, which includes its Baby Suites and neonatal intensive care unit; The Reflux Center; and a designated Bariatric Center of Excellence.
