GradePowerlogoSince opening its doors in October of last year, GradePower Learning hit the ground running and hasn’t looked back.

GradePower Learning provides quality after-school educational support for students of all ages and grades. Along with basic school skills such as reading and math, GradePower Learning helps students develop their confidence.

“Confidence is a big part of helping children get better grades,” said Andrew Learned, GradePower Valrico‘s director. “When children start to feel better about their learning abilities, they can accomplish anything. We’re really happy to be bringing these learning opportunities to the Valrico community for the past year.”

Each GradePower Learning program begins with an in depth assessment of a child’s learning strengths and weaknesses.  This process allows students to be placed in a program where they will get academic support in a way that best meets their learning needs. Students work in small groups with teachers to develop their proficiency in math or reading, building their self-confidence as they work.

Over the past year, Learned and his team have assessed over 175 children and enrolled over 100 into its programs.

Selected for Tampa Bay Business Journal Up & Comer under 30 Award, Learned said that it has been a crazy and exciting year.

“Being able to bring our service to this community and help area families is so rewarding and we couldn’t be more exited to continue to reach out over the next year and the years to come and continue to help,” he said.

Sponsoring the Newsome and Bloomingdale High Schools, the FishHawk Youth Sports Association, and the Bloomingdale Little League, Learned said that community involvement helps creates a more well-rounded experience.

“We value our community and aim to support students not only academically in the center, but in the community as well,” Learned said.

Learned encourages area residents to check out the many ways that GradePower Learning can help students in Valrico achieve better grades this year.
