Ducks Unlimited is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that has conserved, restored and protected more than 13.2 million acres of wetlands and other critical habitats since its grassroots beginnings in 1937. Wetlands conservation programs provide waterfowl habitat, flood control, erosion control, recharges ground water and numerous recreational opportunities. Out of every dollar, 82 cents goes directly to the purchase of these wetlands.  DU has conserved almost 27,000 acres of important waterfowl habitat within Florida.

Member of the group Wayne Tassler said, “The future of habitat conservation resides in our youth, and it is up to us to get our children out of the house and into the great outdoors.  Please join us for an afternoon of learning all about our great outdoors.”

The local group has about 15 committee members from the surrounding area that participate in the planning and execution of events. The overall membership of the chapter is over 300 adults and youth. More members and volunteers who would like to be on the committee are welcome.

The group usually meets on Thursday evenings at different local restaurants a couple of times a month in order to plan upcoming events.
