On the night of Tuesday, August 25 at Riverview Library, a Women Writers Rendezvous will be held to exhibit the world of writing to the community.

“Jackelen Boyer and Penny Fletcher inspired the idea for this event last year at one of our club meetings,” said Donna Lee Fore, president of the Riverview Woman’s Club.

Five local authors and one narrator have been invited to share their writing experiences, including Marie Gilmore, editor and author, Kelly Abell, romance author, Dina Hansen, self-care coach and author, Jackelen Boyer, author and club member, and Lois Lewandowski, blogger and food author. Earnest Hooper, Tampa Bay Times Editor, will serve as the narrator. Before and after a panel discussion, time will be allotted for book signing and purchasing as well as communicating with each author. Light refreshments will also be offered.

“This will be open to the public first come first serve as seating is limited,” said Fore. “We will be creating a basket of books from each author. Proceeds will be split between the Riverview Women’s Club and Friends of the Library.”

The Riverview Woman’s Club meets monthly at Summerfield Crossings Golf Course from September to June and plans special evening events during the summer. This nonprofit organization supports various charitable organizations, funds college scholarships and works with the STARR program from Rodger’s Middle School. They also take tours of businesses around the community.

“We pride ourselves on building relationships among like-minded women, and work for the education of our youth,” said Fore.

The Friends of the Riverview Library, also a contributor to this event, is a nonprofit organization that raises funds to support library programs and enhance library collections through income from a volunteer run bookstore. Author presentations and signings, children’s story time and summer reading programs are offered.

The event will be held on Tuesday, August 25 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. For more information on the Riverview Woman’s Club, contact 528-0902 or www.RiverviewWomansClub.org.
