The Rotary Club of FishHawk-Riverview is excited to announce the 6th Annual Crawfish Festival, which will be held on Saturday, April 16 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Winthrop Park area in Winthrop at 11349 Bloomingdale Ave. in Riverview (behind Ciccio Cali Brandon). All proceeds are donated to local charities and scholarship funds. There will be entertainment and free activities for the children. Admission is free to this event.

The Rotary Club will be picking up over 2,000 lbs. of Louisiana crawfish and cooking will be overseen by expert chef, Michael Broussard. Additional authentic Creole and Cajun food will be provided by the title sponsor, Roux Creole Nouvelle. Brandon Regional Hospital is another Title Sponsor for the Crawfish Festival. Additional sponsors include Stingray Chevrolet and Money Mailer of Eastern Hillsborough County.

Marie Gilmore has attended the Crawfish Festival many times over the past six years. “The annual Crawfish festival is an event we look forward to as a family. It’s a great event, with amazing food, music and fun for a good cause and we wouldn’t miss it,” she said.

Friends of Hillsborough County Animals Services will have pets available for adoption. Charity shredding by Shred360 will start at 1 p.m.

Tickets cost $20 and can be purchased online. Reservations are requested before Thursday, April 10 to guarantee a Crawfish Meal available for you and your family on the day of the event.

The meal will include about 2-3 lbs. of crawfish with the fixings (corn and potatoes). The Rotary has sold out in all previous years so pre-ordering is your best option. Other food items and beverages will be available for purchase at the event. Free hotdogs will be given away to children that bring nonperishable food donations.

There are many ways the community can help make this event a success including sponsorship, volunteering, donations, selling tickets and more. To be a vendor, contact the Rotary. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit or check it out on Facebook at
