The United Methodist Church of Sun City Center, in an effort to provide a variety of musical performances for Southern Hillsborough County, presents Thank God Its Variety Concert Series. The performers are all varied and appeal to audiences of all ages.

On Thursday, April 14, The Eastern Hillsborough Community Band will perform The Band Remembers- Selections From Our Past with music from Tijuana Brass, Star Wars, Pirates of the Caribbean and more. The show will take place at 7 p.m. A $5 donation is requested.

On Friday, April 15, you will not want to Miss Lyra presenting Great Acappella Choral Music from Russia. Jeff Jordan, Director of Worship Arts said, “Direct from Moscow, this extraordinary a cappella ensemble will perform traditional Eastern Orthodox sacred music as well as Russian folk and popular music.” This show will begin at 7 p.m., and a $10 donation is requested.

On Friday, April 22 come to the church and hear The Puffers perform gospel music and more. Jordan said, “With songs on the national gospel charts, Bob and Darlene Puffer offer a variety of music including traditional Gospel. Southern Gospel, Country and Folk. They also offer up many humorous songs which are often requested.” The performance begins at 7 p.m. A $5 donation is requested.

The Clavary Heirs are a Southern Gospel Quartet. They are unusual in that they are composed on three guys and one girl. Their most recent release is called Soldiers for Christ. Show at 7 p.m. The cost is only a $5 donation.

The Peytons, known as Florida’s number one down home gospel family, will perform on Friday, May 6 at 7 p.m. Jordan said, “When you hear this family’s beautiful mother daughter harmonies, you will certainly agree that their title is well deserved.” A $5 donation is requested.

There will be a special show on Saturday May 21 called This Is How We Do It: A Special Celebration of African-American Culture. Finally, on Sunday, May 29, come see The Trust Quartet, a professional, Nashville recorded, Florida based, Gaither-style group perform at 3 p.m. A $5 donation is requested.
