Calling all families and foodies! Mark your calendars for Friday, October 7 from 5-9 p.m. because Summerfield Golf Club will host the Riverview Our Town Food Truck Rally in honor of our community’s first responders. This is a perfect opportunity to come out and meet your neighbors, sample a wide variety of delectable fare, and most importantly, honor the men and women in our community who always come when we need them.

The event is the brainchild of the Riverview Area Word of Mouth Facebook group and is headed up by its title sponsors, Jason Blanchard with Summerfield Crossings Golf Club; Theresa Turner, CPA with Tax Happens LLC; and Kerin Clarkin with Kerin Realty. Turner is excited about Riverview’s first food truck rally. “This is bringing Riverview together while appreciating our first responders,” she said. The big goal is to be able to regularly organize community events on a quarterly basis, but they need the support of the community.

Ten food trucks will serve up an international menu of dishes from around the world that is sure to excite your taste buds. There will be something for everyone, even your picky eaters. Summerfield Golf Club will sell adult beverages with family friendly drinks available at all of the trucks. Organizers also plan to have a fire truck on site for kids to explore, face-painting, and pet adoption organizations as well as a DJ spinning live tunes.

Most importantly, there will be a 50/50 raffle benefiting multiple nonprofits which help local police, firefighters, and first responders including Riverview Our Town Inc. and The Lynn Sowers Memorial Foundation Inc. All proceeds will be split between the winner and the organizations. There is no cost to attend the event, but food and beverage prices vary by vendor. Come out and show your support for these brave men and women and their families.

Organizers are still soliciting for industry-specific sponsors. Your donations are needed for first responders and to cover some costs incurred to make it all happen.
