Bay Life Church presents Journey To The Cross—an Immersive and Interactive Holy Week Experience. In a subdued and somber atmosphere, guests visit 10 different stations portraying Jesus’ last days and crucifixion.

The event takes place over the course of three days at Bay Life Church in Brandon. The date and times are as followed: on Wednesday, April 12 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.; Thursday, April 13 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.; and on Friday, April 14 from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. It is well attended, so reservations are strongly recommended and can be made at www.baylife.org/journey.

“Journey To The Cross is a contemplative event designed to help remind each of us of the events that preceded Jesus’ resurrection. And as you walk through the 10 stations, guests will have the chance to experience the burdens we each may feel and a chance to lay those burdens at the foot of the cross, ” said Stephen Stough from Bay Life Church.

As guests follow the path to the cross, the stations’ imagery provokes an array of emotions as they “witness” the betrayal, denial, pain and death of Christ. Some of the stations contain intense and vivid depictions of Jesus’ last days and may not suitable for young children. For this reason, complimentary childcare is on location for children under the age of 6.

Journey To The Cross is not an annual event for Bay Life. Instead, it is held every two to three years to preserve its significance and ultimately create a greater impact. “When you reflect on what Jesus did, it makes Easter Sunday that much more powerful…. Our hope and prayer is that those who are not plugged into a church, or those who are searching for answers in our community will join us for this event and come face-to-face with the truth of what the cross is all about,” explained Stough.

Then in celebration of Christ’s resurrection, Bay Life Church will host four Easter worship services. Pastor Mark Saunders will speak about Jesus’ journey to the cross and his resurrection in a sermon titled, Best Week Ever. The services are on Saturday, April 15 at 6 p.m. and Sunday, April 16 at 8 a.m., 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m.
