Holiday Craft Bazaar Seeks Crafters And Artists

Crafters and artists are being sought by Grace United Methodist Church at FishHawk Women of Grace for a Holiday Craft Bazaar on Saturday, November 11 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. The church is located at 5708 Lithia Pinecrest Rd. in Lithia.

Organizers are seeking original, one-of-a-kind arts and crafts. The fee for a 10 x 10-ft. space is $25, and fees will support missions in the community. The bazaar will be outdoors, and vendors will need to provide their own tent, table and chairs.

Chabad Jewish Discover Center Offers Yom Kippur Services At No Charge

Chabad Jewish Discovery Center, the local Valrico branch of the largest Jewish outreach organization in the world, has presented its own High Holiday services option, providing services at no charge for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur in a warm and inclusive setting.

Chabad’s services are “user-friendly,” making it enjoyable and meaningful for both the beginner and the advanced.  Song, commentary and the use of English-Hebrew prayer books, enable those of all levels to become active participants in the services.

Yom Kippur begins this year at sundown on the eve of Friday, September 29 and extends until nightfall on September 30.

Services will be held at the Jewish Discovery Center, located at 1578 Bloomingdale Ave. in Valrico.

Sukkah Under the Stars-Wednesday, October 4 from 6:15-7:45 p.m. Enjoy S’mores, make a sukkah from mystery materials, and play Sukkot games. Star Gaze using a telescope and learn more about the stars. Everyone, young and old, is welcome to celebrate this special holiday.

Sangria and Soda in the Sukkah – Saturday, October 7 at 7 p.m. Join in for a drum circle by Giving Tree Music. Bring a snack to share and enjoy beating a drum.

One Family – Different Customs: An exploration of Sephardic Jewry. Rabbi Betsy Torop will enlighten all about Sephardic customs, goods, music, life cycle and holiday observances celebrated in Spain and Middle Eastern countries. This series will run on three consecutive Tuesday evenings in October, starting on October 10 at 7 p.m.

Simchot Torah – Wednesday, October 11 at 7 p.m. – Celebrate with songs of joy, listen to the final and first words of the Torah and dance with the scrolls.

Shabbat services are held Friday evenings at 7:45 p.m. A special ‘Shabbat at the Ranch’ will be held on October 6. Bring a snack to share and a chair. Sunset viewing begins at 6 p.m. and will follow with a casual Shabbot service at 7 pm. All welcome. Call the office for ranch address.
