A yard sale will be held at the Lithia Ridge Community (intersection of Lithia Pinecrest Rd. and Lithia Ridge Blvd.) on Friday, April 27 from 3-7 p.m. ans Saturday, April 28 from 8 a.m.-2 p.m.

Items available throughout neighborhood include furniture, bikes, tools, video games, kids & adult clothing, toys, baby items, home ware, sporting goods and more.

Hawthorne Hosts Parkinson’s Disease Support Group

Hawthorne Health & Rehabilitation Center hosts a monthly support group for those diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease and caregivers on the third Thursday of every month.

A variety of speakers will provide information on topics relating to swallowing, balance, walking, speaking, mobility, exercise, self-care, cognition, and memory, all of which can be impacted by Parkinson’s Disease.

Put On Your Dancing Shoes

Valrico Dancing will be holding dances on the first and third Friday nights each month. The next dance will take place on April 20 at the Knai Thomman Social Hall, 225 N. Dover Rd., in Dover.

The dance will run from 6:30-9:30 p.m. Cost is $6. There will not be any snacks, sodas or ice sold, so bring anything that you might want to eat or drink, plus anything that you would use to consume these eats and drinks. Music will be by DJ Ken Miller.

11th Annual Blueberry Festival Kicks Off April 14

The 11th Annual Blueberry Festival kicks its two weekend celebration on Saturday April 14, continuing Sunday April 15, Saturday April 21, and Sunday April 22.

The free event allows participants to enjoy a celebration of blueberries with activities such as U Pick Blueberries, craft vendors, food vendors, drinks, a kids zone, and live music. Keel and Curley wines and Two Henry’s Brewing Co. beer will be available for sale in the tasting room.

The event is family-friendly and dog-friendly.

Keel and Curley Winery is located at 5210 Thonotosassa Rd. in Plant City. Parking costs $10 and will be available around the event.

A Night To Remember Benefitting the Children’s Home Network

Mark your calendars for the Children’s Home Network’s A Night to Remember event. Together, we will help heal the hearts of abused, neglected and abandoned children, and support thousands of local families in need. This year’s theme, Twisting the Night Away, will feature delicious food, cocktails and live music from Tampa legends, The Fabulous Rockers.

It will be held on Friday, May 4 from 7-11 p.m. at the Bryan Glazer Family JCC, 522 N. Howard Ave. in Tampa.

Help A Horse Day Focuses On Senior Horses And People

On Saturday, April 28, RVR Horse Rescue will team up with the ASPCA to celebrate Help a Horse Day. This year RVR will focus on senior horses while honoring our senior human citizens. Help a Horse Day will take place from 8 a.m.-12 Noon with a community breakfast, where citizens 55+ eat free as well as Bingo and raffles.

Free Paint Along Workshops At Life’s Treasures Thrift Stores
Life’s Treasures Thrift Stores in Brandon is partnering with the Life Enrichment Center to provide a Acrylic Paint Along Workshop on Wednesday, April 18 from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Heather Rippert, an acclaimed artist and instructor at the Life Enrichment Center, will lead the workshop. She has been featured in various solo and group shows since 1986 and has participated in Artexpo New York and Artexpo Las Vegas.

Chipotle Fundraiser On May 1 To Help The Potential Foundation

A fundraiser will be held for The Potential Foundation on Tuesday, May 1 at Chipotle, 829 E. Bloomingdale Ave. in Brandon from 5-9 p.m.

The Potential Foundation is a non profit organization that enrich lives of those with different types of dwarfism known as primordial dwarfism. This group helps by facilitating opportunities for families to meet, provide information related to known health concerns and specialty care, and furthering research efforts. Research remains our primary focus and has resulted in amazing progress leading to diagnosis and proactive medical care.

Chipotle has agreed to donate half of the proceeds to the foundation once the event is over.
