County Neighborhood Relations Spotlights Communities

The Hillsborough County Office of Neighborhood Relations wants to know why your neighborhood is special. The group is working with Hillsborough County Communications and Digital Media to produce Neighborhood Spotlight, an occasional series which will tell the stories of specific communities throughout the area.

The presentations will be supplemented with photographs, a map and sometimes video to give each neighborhood a chance to shine. Information will include when the neighborhood was founded, the number of homes and residents, a list of local schools, special features and regular or occasional events at which neighbors congregate for fun, clean-ups or other projects.

The results will be presented in a question and answer format on the county’s website, www.hcflgv.net, and shared on social media. The first community featured, currently on the Website, is Ruskin’s Alafia River Estates.

To learn more to apply for the neighborhood spotlight, contact Bayard Steele, Community Relations Coordinator, at 276-2672 or steeleb@hcflgov.net.
