River Oaks Raises Money For MADD
River Oaks Treatment Center, an American Addiction Center, centered in Riverview recently participated in the 2018 Walk Like MADD Tampa event in March at USF. The 20 member-team was awarded Top Corporate Team for fundraising efforts.
This year Walk Like MADD events have raised over $1,000,000 supporting families who have been affected by drunk-driving crashes, support law enforcement heroes and work with state and local legislators regarding current, new and future laws for DUI offenders.

Tampa Electric Earns Tree Line USA® Status For 10th Year
The National Arbor Day Foundation™ has recognized Tampa Electric as a Tree Line USA® utility for the tenth consecutive year for its efforts to protect the health of trees the company must trim near power lines. A tree that comes into contact with a power line can create a safety hazard and can also lead to power outages.
The program is sponsored by The National Arbor Day Foundation, in cooperation with the National Association of State Foresters. It recognizes public and private utilities across the nation following practices that protect and enhance America’s urban forests. To qualify for Tree Line USA status, a utility must exhibit quality tree care practices, complete annual worker training and participate in tree planting and public education.
