Family Promise Receives Donation

Scott D. Graf, Tampa Environmental Department Manager (L) and two-term President of the Tampa Bay Association of Environmental Professionals (TBAEP) (R), recently presented a check for $1,000 to Family Promise of Hillsborough County, a local Tampa Bay organization, which helps homeless families build new lives. This donation was raised during the Inaugural TBAEP/Central Florida Association of Environmental Professionals Golf Tournament held in June, which Graf helped plan as one of four committee members.

Charity Golf Tournament Benefits The Outreach Clinic

The First Annual Charity Golf Tournament benefitting The Outreach Clinic will take place on Friday, October 5 at Bloomingdale Golfer’s Club. Registration begins at 12:30 p.m. Golf play at 1:30 p.m.

GracePoint Plant City to Host Night*Light for the Community

GracePoint Plant City is hosting a community-wide free fall concert celebration, ‘Night*Light’, on its campus 1107 Charlie Griffin Rd. on Saturday, October 20, 7-10 p.m. with some of the best home-grown Tampa Bay area Christian talent available.

“The people at GracePoint want to open the doors to the community as we look to better meet the needs around us. Music is a great way to connect with people from all backgrounds,” said Robert Watson, outreach elder at GracePoint Plant City.

Three local bands will perform.

Fall Foliage Demonstration At Luncheon

The Brandon Christian Women’s Connection’s Luncheon on Monday, October 8 will feature a demonstration by Lowes Garden Center and Fabulous Fall Foliage. 

The Speaker is Sarah Im, author of How I Survived The Killing Fields. This is a nondenominational luncheon for all ladies. No membership is required and the cost for entertainment and the luncheon is $15. First time guests pay $10.

The MAC Gym Celebrates 10 Years

The MAC gym at First Baptist Church of Brandon is celebrating its 10th anniversary on Saturday, October 6 from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. The MAC gym will celebrate by waiving its $35 registration fee on October 6. The event includes cake, a chili cook-off, 3-point shooting competition, pickleball demonstration, fitness class sampler, ‘Ask a Trainer,’ MAC trivia, prizes and giveaways. 

The MAC gym is a ministry of the First Baptist Church of Brandon. The facility features a co-ed fitness area complete with cardio and strength training equipment, ladies only circuit area, an aerobics room, two full-size basketball courts, racquetball, volleyball, youth basketball and soccer, an indoor walking track, a KidZone and more.

Matt Maher’s Echoes Of Worship Tour Comes To Area

The JOY FM presents The Echoes of Worship Tour featuring Matt Maher and special guest Cory Asbury. The tour will make a stop at Countryside Christian Church in Clearwater on Friday, November 16 and at Victory Church in Lakeland on Saturday, November 17.

2018 Brandon Lions Club Annual Luminaria Project

The Brandon Lions Club Luminaria fundraising project providing the kits to neighborhoods and individuals throughout the Greater Brandon area is now taking place.
 
The Kits are constructed with white paper bags weighted down with sand and illuminated from within by a candle. They are traditionally displayed on Christmas Eve.

Each kit contains 15 each of long burning votive candles, candle holders, white bags, and a plastic bag of sand (to use in the base of each bag) and retail for $6.50. Orders over 15 kits will be delivered to your neighborhood.
