Sponsorships Of Wreaths Support Wreaths Across America

The Plant City/Aletheia Youth In Government is selling sponsorships of wreaths to support the Wreaths Across Americas (WAA) effort. This is a national nonprofit organization whose mission–Remember, Honor, and Teach–is carried out each year in part through the laying of wreaths at military cemeteries on National Wreaths Across America Day each December. These YIG groups are sponsoring wreaths for Arlington and Bushnell.

You can purchase the sponsorships of these wreaths at www.wreathsacrossamerica.org.

Once at the site, go to the right hand side click on the Menu and select ‘Search location/groups’ and click on Local Fundraising groups. In the search box type in FL0244P and choose either Youth In Government club (Arlington or Florida National Cemetery). On the right hand side click on the red box that says Sponsor. Scroll down to find the red Sponsor a Wreath.

The students in this YIG group are planning on attending the Bushnell wreath ceremony on December 15 to help place the wreaths.

AMERICAN PICKERS To Film In Florida

Mike Wolfe, Frank Fritz, and their team are excited to return to Florida. They plan to film episodes of the hit series AMERICAN PICKERS throughout the region in February 2019. AMERICAN PICKERS is a documentary series that explores the fascinating world of antique ‘picking’ on the History Channel. The hit show follows Mike and Frank, two of the most skilled pickers in the business, as they hunt for America’s most valuable antiques. They are always excited to find sizable, unique collections and learn the interesting stories behind them. As they hit the back roads from coast to coast, Mike and Frank are on a mission to recycle and rescue forgotten relics. Along the way, the Pickers want to meet characters with remarkable and exceptional items. The pair hopes to give historically significant objects a new lease on life, while learning a thing or two about America’s past along the way. Mike and Frank have seen a lot of rusty gold over the years and are always looking to discover something they have never seen before. They are ready to find extraordinary items and hear fascinating tales about them. AMERICAN PICKERS is looking for leads and would love to explore your hidden treasure.

If you or someone you know has a large, private collection or accumulation of antiques that the Pickers can spend the better part of the day looking through, send your name, phone number, location and description of the collection with photos to: americanpickers@cineflix.com or call 855-OLD-RUST (653-7878).
