During the summer of 2015, two locals were inspired to open a true barbershop in the Valrico area. Their shop has been slowly growing since, and actively seeks to deliver quality service while staying involved with the community.

“We both lived in the area and we knew it needed a good barbershop,” explained co-owner Cris Aviso. He partnered with another experienced barber, William Senquiz, and together they created something great under the name of C & W Barbershop.

With its four barbers and family-friendly atmosphere, the shop specializes in cuts for both men and boys, including fades, military, business, classic, pompadour, undercuts and head shaves. They even offer hot towel shaves. “This is our favorite, like in the good old days,” Aviso said.

Beard trims, shampoos and gels are also available, along with trims or bang cuts for women and basic facials and eyebrow waxes for men and women. They also offer $2 off as a military discount.

The shop is open Monday to Friday from 9:30 a.m.-7 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Though it is typically closed on Sundays, the shop will be open from 12 p.m.-4 p.m. every Sunday in April.

Aviso first began his career and gained barbershop experience from working at his mother’s shop. His partner, Senquiz, has been cutting hair for more than eight years and began in Kissimmee where he owned and operated three barbershops.

“Our shop is clean, and we give quality haircuts for a great price,” Aviso said. “People choose us because we are consistent and we make people feel great after leaving the barbershop. If you look good, you feel good.”
