A new resort-style community has broken ground in the Southshore area which will offer a style of master-planned community living, never before seen with its unique five-acre Crystal Lagoon pool. Southshore Bay, the newest lagoon community by Metro Places, is excited to showcase the world’s top amenity with its Crystal Lagoon by Metro Lagoons centerpiece to its family-friendly community and builders are ready to reserve home sites.

The new lagoon is well under construction and located in Wimauma at the intersection of Hwy 674 and Hwy 301, directly across from the Sereno community. Homes have broken ground and models will soon open to showcase a future build-out with more than 2,000 homes starting in mid $200’s.

The centerpiece of the community will be the lagoon itself with over five acres of fresh water and a waterfront lifestyle. Amenities will include Adventure Bay, Sunset Beach, Treasure Point and Gasparilla Island along with a zero entry, sandy beach with activities for all ages. Residents will be able to kayak, paddle board and even sail small boats.

The first time Metro Development President Greg Singleton stood on the edge of a Crystal Lagoon, the view and crystal clear water amazed him. “Wow, this is clearly a game changer”, he said. Construction of the first lagoon community is currently underway in Wesley Chapel at a development named Epperson, which currently offers the first Crystal Lagoon in the U.S. Southshore Bay will be the second lagoon development in partnership with Metro.

Singleton added, “We want families to live here. Families with children can live in the primary area and still be close to grandparents who can be residing in the Active Adult Community.”

The community will also include miles of trails for biking and walking, a dog park and golf cart paths and a Zen Garden. A community coordinator will be on site to work with residents for planning private functions such as weddings and events. Onsite restaurants and entertainment are also planned for the future.

“Get in line early, the lagoon effect is real”, added Singleton.

Current Southshore Bay Builders include D.R. Horton, Holiday Builders and Lennar Homes which will build the separate and gated active adult section.

Metro Development Group is located in Tampa and has been in business over 20 years, bringing some of the most innovative technologies and amenities to home builders and home buyers. Metro has been active bringing to the area Sereno, Park Creek, Waterleaf, Cypress Creek and Epperson to mention a few.

Crystal Lagoons was founded in 2007 by Fernando Fischmann, a real estate developer with a biochemistry background who invested millions on a 20-acre lagoon along the Chilean coastline. He patented technology with sensors and small injectors that keep the lagoon crystal clear.

Plans are underway for four Metro Lagoons projects in West Central Florida, exclusive to Metro Places. Two of these lagoons will be in Pasco County just north of SR-54 and to the east of I-75, including Epperson and Miranda not too far from the community of Union Park. Southshore Bay lagoon in Southern Hillsborough County, just east of US-301 on SR-674, will be situated directly across the street from Sereno and, also a community in Lee County in North Ft. Myers called Brightwater, just one mile east of I-75 from exit 143.

Southshore Bay lagoon completion is planned for summer 2018. For more info, visit lagoonrealty.com or metroplaces.com for further information.
