Brandon, Florida has a population of over 91,000 people. Brandon has great homes, schools, golf courses, fabulous shopping and a fantastic mall. Brandon can now add to that list a state of the art, 30,000-sq.-ft. center known as The Regent, located at 6437 Watson Rd. in Riverview. Some of you may know it as The Brandon Community Advantage Center. The Regent will be renamed once Hillsborough Community College (HCC) takes ownership in January.
The Regent will celebrate its grand opening during the weekend of Saturday and Sunday, January 14 and 15. On Sunday, the public is invited to attend a grand opening from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. There will be food, music and a program at 1 p.m.
The Regent is big and spectacular, complete with chandeliers, hardwood floors and sweeping views. It contains a 10,000-sq.-ft. ballroom that can be divided into three separate rooms, a 3,400 sq. ft. lower level all purpose function room, 5,000 sq. feet of outdoor space, a grand staircase with porch, a bridal suite and a large warming kitchen for caterers. The Regent will also house six dedicated HCC classrooms and offices.
Kristen Kerr is the executive director of The Regent. Kerr says, “The Regent’s location is so convenient, yet when you arrive, you have a sense of privacy and seclusion. The views are peaceful, and we are the only venue in the Greater Brandon area that can accommodate upwards of 650 guests for a seated dinner.”
The Regent is available for the community to book events. The space is perfect for weddings, auctions, seminars, annual dinners and galas. “There’s no limit to what we can host at The Regent, and people will soon find that it is conducive for an impressive array of events,” said Kerr. Nonprofits will be offered a 25 percent discount to use the space. Parking will not be an issue at this facility. On the grounds there are upwards of 300 spaces, and with an agreement with Symmes Elementary, there will be an additional 100 spaces available.
Kerr is busy booking events at The Regent. If you would like more information on The Regent, please contact Kerr at 541-1838. A Website will be available in a few weeks at www.experiencetheregent.com.
