Apostles Lutheran Church is hosting its 7th annual Boars Head and Yule Log Festival on Friday, December 2, at 7:30 pm., Saturday, December 3, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, December 4, at 4 p.m. Cost is free.

Apostles Lutheran Church is hosting its 7th annual Boars Head and Yule Log Festival. Upon entrance into the sanctuary, guests are greeted by the familiar sounds of Christmas carols played by a brass ensemble. Elegant ladies and gracious gentlemen welcome attendees.
In the tradition of the Middle Ages in England, this production allows guests to experience the pageantry, music, theater and the wonder of the nativity, woven together to celebrate the birth of Jesus. The Festival is filled with beautiful music, colorful costumes and merriment from beginning to end.
The real meaning of Christmas is realized throughout the performance. From the moment the sprite brings the Light of Christ into the worship center, this wonderful production honors the birth of Jesus and the gift God has given through the birth of His Son.
SueAnn Collins, associate in ministry at Apostles, is excited about this year’s performance. “We are always improving and making every year different than the previous year, although the story remains the same,” said Collins. “It started as a little production and each year it’s grown bigger and bigger.”
Last year, more than 177 cast and crew worked together to make the production a success. From the vocalists, strings, woodwinds, brass, percussion, organist, pianist, directors, actors, children, youth and adults, everyone is committed to make this annual Christmas tradition a realization.
In the weeks prior to the performance, more than 150 colorful costumes are sorted and ironed, new costumes and props are created and trees are decorated. “This is a fantastic way to start the Christmas season,” added Collins. “It sets the whole tone for the reason we celebrate.”
The dates for this year’s performances are Friday, December 2 at 7:30 pm., Saturday, December 3 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, December 4 at 4 p.m.  Doors open 30 minutes prior to the performance. There is no admission charge, no tickets are needed and no reserved seating.
