Publix will open its newest store in Riverview, located in Pavilion Crossing, 3863 U.S. Hwy. 301 S. on Thursday, November 17. The event will kick off with a 7:45 a.m. ribbon cutting and the doors will open to the public at 8 a.m.
On opening day,  there will be entertainment and the first few hundred customers will receive complimentary insulated reusable bags. There also will be plenty of samples, giveaways and sales throughout the entire opening weekend.
The store will be 45,000-sq.-ft. store, the size of the average Publix, and it will have a pharmacy.
In addition to the traditional grocery, meat, dairy and frozen food departments, this store will contain the following full-service departments: bakery, deli, fresh seafood and pharmacy. Approximately 100 Publix associates will be employed at the store.
Opening this store has created several new job opportunities, not only at this location, but at surrounding Publix locations as well.
“We currently have 40 stores in Hillsborough County and are always looking for future sites. Serving our customers with convenient locations is important to us as we plan our expansion and continue to grow,” said Shannon Patten, manager of Media & Community Relations for Publix.
“It is always exciting to open a new store and feel the enthusiasm it generates,” she said. “We have been working hard to create a great store and our customers will truly enjoy their experience in this new location.”
Lisa Fernandez, an area resident who lives nearby the new location, said she is looking forward to the store’s opening. “I love Publix and I love shopping at the new stores,” she remarked.
Store hours are seven days a week, 8 a.m.-10 p.m. Pharmacy hours are Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-8 p.m.; Saturday, 9 a.m.-6 p.m.; and Sunday, 11 a.m.-5 p.m.
