Josh Martin, owner of CrossFit for Glory in Lithia, is a firm believer in taking high risk in order to achieve high rewards. Ultimately it was this belief that led him to open his own CrossFit gym in December of 2011.

“When I first discovered CrossFit, I knew that I one day wanted to own and operate my own gym,” said Martin. “I had no idea how to even start, but I began planning what it would take to open and succeed. In summer of 2010 I told my wife how unhappy I was at my current job and that I wanted to open a gym. She was immediately supportive.”

Martin took a high risk in walking away from his job that offered him a guaranteed paycheck, full health benefits and opportunity for some growth, but for him, the rewards were worth it all. CrossFit for Glory celebrated its Grand Opening in December, 2011.

“The way I look at it, coming to CrossFit is the high risk option for people, too. When you walk through the doors at CrossFit for Glory, everyone will know your name. We will ask you about your family and your recent vacations. You don’t get to wear headphones like at a typical gym and you’ll be doing movements that are technical, but not overly complicated,” said Martin. “We are high risk and we are not the norm. What CrossFit for Glory offers is a high reward and we produce results. Our program and our coaches are the best around.”

In December, Martin added new class times and offers different levels ranging from beginners to advanced classes, but anyone is welcome to attend any class. Class times are Monday: 10 a.m., 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.; Tuesday: 6:30 a.m., 9 a.m., 10 a.m., 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.; Wednesday: 6:30 a.m., 9 a.m., 10 a.m., 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.; Thursday: 6:30 a.m., 9 a.m., 10 a.m., 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.; Friday: 10 a.m., 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.; and Saturday: 9 a.m. and 10 a.m.
