If you are compassionate about children, love classic cars, good food and entertainment, then plan to attend the “Rods on the River 4 Goin’ Hog Wild Car Show” presented by the High Rollers Car Club at Uncle Mike’s Smokehouse Grill on Saturday, March 23. Uncle Mike’s is located at 9847 Adamo Dr. in Tampa (behind Brandon Harley Davidson). The event will run from 10 a.m.-2:30 p.m.

The best part of this event is that 100 percent of the proceeds will benefit Shriners Hospital for Children. This is possible thanks to the generosity of the sponsors.

Beth Demas, Public Relations Coordinator for Shriners Hospital for Children said, “The generosity of donors is what enables Shriners Hospital for Children to deliver life-changing medical care.” Demas added, ” Coming to an event that combines your love of classic cars and your caring heart for children in need of essential healthcare puts you in the winner’s circle!”

Randall Black with the High Rollers Car Club said, “We team up with local businesses to hold these shows to give back to the community twice a year.” Black added, “We want to interact with the community to show a little piece of history and some of the rare automobiles of the 50’s through the late 70’s. It’s nice when you see a parent showing their children what they learned to drive in or what their first car was.”

Simone Tolley with Uncle Mike’s Smokehouse Grill explained, “We are very involved with the community, family, business and bikers. We try to do what we can for the community and charities because the community has done so much for us by supporting us and helping grow our restaurant even in these hard economic times.”

You will get to see over 200 cars. Cars will be eligible for a number of awards including Best of Show. The recipient will get a four foot trophy!

The Shriners Hospital for Children-Tampa has been helping children from Florida and Southwest Georgia since it opened in 1985. Located on the USF campus, the hospital has served approximately 50,000 children to date.
