Carr Pediatrics Dentistry, specializing in dentistry for infants and children, creates an environment where the kids can feel comfortable and receive the best dental care and education. Dr. Natalie Carr is truly passionate about what she does and really puts an emphasis on dental education starting at a young age. Visits starting as early as age one help establish some familiarity with the dental office and good hygiene.
Dr. Carr has been in the Brandon area since 2002 and worked in a large group practice for years until 2010 when she started her own practice. She now makes it her goal to create a clean and professional, yet kid-friendly, office to make each customer’s experience a positive one.
“It’s definitely challenging. You have to work with all sorts of personalities, but the children are amazing,” said Dr. Carr.
Dr. Carr, along with her staff, keep up with the latest research and strive to practice the highest quality dental care. She says that it’s very much a team approach and they’re not just putting forth the minimum, but strive to do the best for the patients.
The pediatric office has an open bay setting so that children can see each other in the same environment and inspire one another to cooperate with the dentist. Having this open setting also relieves some of the worries that a child might have and even inspire an “if you can do it, so can I” type attitude, according to Dr. Carr. There are also many fun things to do throughout the office and even while the patients are in the chair. The kids have the opportunity to play games on the iPads, play with the toys and even watch movies on the TV monitors above their chairs.
“Kids attention spans are not long, so you have to be on at all times, and people don’t realize how intense it can be, but it’s so rewarding. As much as it’s a job it’s a passion,” said Dr. Carr.
Carr Pediatrics is open Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. at 11936 Boyette Rd. in Riverview.
