It has been said that your smile is your best asset. It’s your feature that is most remembered. Dr. Clay McEntire of Abdoney Orthodontics in Valrico works hard to make sure his patients have the best smiles in the community. He recently joined the staff of Abdoney Orthodontics this past summer and he loves being a part of our community.  “I think that’s one of the fun things about being a part of a small business is that you get to be involved with your community,” McEntire said. He and his wife and six-week-old daughter live in Tampa because McEntire works at both the Tampa and Valrico offices of Abdoney Orthodontics.

The young orthodontist is originally from Alabama and went to Auburn University. He got his dental degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. “Throughout the whole time I was in college, I knew I wanted to be an orthodontist and luckily I put myself in a position to get myself into a good program,” McEntire said. After graduation, he and his wife moved to Virginia for two years but knew they wanted to eventually move to Florida because his wife is from Tampa. He did his Florida boards and applied for every orthodontist opening in the area. He was thrilled when he was hired by Dr. Abdoney because he likes that his staff is committed to providing an unmatched level of care. He also likes that the practice is involved with the Brandon community. “We’ve reached out to our patients and asked them what charities and programs mean something to them,” McEntire said.

The office currently has a reward program for their patients. If they come to their appointments on time and they wear their rubber bands on their braces or don’t break any of their braces’ brackets, they are rewarded with points. Those points can turn into gift card for their patients or they can donate their points to A Kid’s Place in Brandon. If the patient wants to donate their points, Abdoney Orthodontics matches the donation. “We hope that this program will make a positive impact and help A Kid’s Place,” McEntire said. He also hopes that he will be a positive beacon in the community and be someone his patients trust with their smiles.
