The Greater Hillsborough County Fair Fine Arts Show, presented by the Eastern Hillsborough Art Guild (EHAG) and the Photography Show presented by the Frog Pond Center for the Arts (a 4H Program), was held during the annual Hillsborough County Fair.

The Fine Arts Show featured 68 entries from artists all over Hillsborough County and consisted of artwork from amateurs, professionals and students. Several types of media were represented including watercolor, acrylic, mixed media, graphite and oil.

The Judge for the Fine Arts Show was John Hardin, a Humanities professor with HCC.

Best of Show was awarded to Michaela Messer of Plant City for her fabulous watercolor. Messer was a first time entrant and also received first place in the mixed media category and third place in watercolor.

Mary Jane Wagoner, long time member of EHAG is the co-chair of the Fine Arts Show. Wagoner said, “It is a well represented show. We have been able to double the number of entries since EHAG became the Presenter of the show two years ago. I also think that we have seen an increased level of talent in the pieces that are entered.”

The Photography Show featured 94 entries in Adult Digital and Adult Black and White as well as entries for digital from secondary students, middle school students and elementary school students. The Judge for the Photography Show was Cecil E. Greek.
