Seafood lovers are rejoicing that a quality seafood restaurant has landed in Park Square.

Catch Twenty-Three, located at 16132 Churchview Dr., the brainchild of owner Rob Wickner, is a stylish seafood restaurant with dishes inspired by flavorful Latin and Caribbean influences served up in a casual, upscale setting.

The extensive menu features seafood offerings such as paella, stuffed grouper, peppercorn encrusted tuna, “Maryland-style” crab cakes, sushi, and classic pub favorites of hamburgers, grouper sandwiches and cheese steak sandwiches. A children’s menu is available.

General Manager Sarah Hammons said the restaurant stands out because of the importance it places on food-quality. All of the market-fresh fish and vegetables are bought fresh, not frozen. Menu items, from appetizers to desserts, are made in-house.

“You know you’re eating something fresh when you come here,” she said.

Riverview resident Niki Wilde visited the restaurant to try its famous macadamia-encrusted Chilean sea bass. One of its signature dishes, the fish is served on citrus buerre blanc sauce, topped with island mango salsa and served with coconut rice and sweet plantains.

“The fish had a great texture and flavor,” said Wilde. “I also enjoyed the edamame served as a substitute for bread before the meal because it was a healthier and fun option.”

The restaurant offers weekday specials that are easy on any pocketbook. Monday is Burger Night featuring an eight-ounce stockyard Angus beef cheeseburger and fries for $4.99. Tuesday is Sushi Happy Hour all night with sushi rolls starting at $2.99.

Catch Twenty-Three is a great place for a girls’ night out. On Wine Lovers’ Wednesdays, ladies enjoy unlimited, all-you-care-to-drink wine (with many wines to choose from) for $15. The evening includes raffles and wine prizes.

Catch Twenty-Three is open Monday through Thursday from 4:30–9:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 4:30–10:30 p.m., and Sunday from 4:30–9 p.m. On the weekends, the kitchen may close at 10:30 p.m. but the bar stays open until 12 Midnight, with live entertainment to create a lively atmosphere. Entertainment is also on hand during ladies’ night.
