UncleMikeRoomFor anyone looking to enjoy some live music in a family-friendly environment, Uncle Mike’s Smokehouse is the place to go. Formerly located in Brandon, Uncle Mike’s has now become a staple in the Plant City area, conveniently located on Northeast corner of Hwy. 39 and Hwy. 60. Beginning this month, locals can also enjoy the convenience of an event hall to serve all their event needs.

While Uncle Mike’s has enjoyed a fast growth in business since opening its doors in 2010, owners Mike and Simone Tolley are most grateful for the customers who have faithfully followed their business in the midst of a location transition. In January 2013, Uncle Mike’s was forced to close its Brandon location when its lease was not renewed. Thankfully, in August of 2013, it reopened its doors in the current Plant City location. “Our customers were faithful to make the transition with us, and thankfully our business has continued to grow,” said Simone.

And grow it has. With over 8,000 sq. ft. of space and about 30 employees, Uncle Mike’s will be looking to expand its staff by about 13 employees including more chefs and wait staff with the opening of a new event hall, located on the same property, that accommodates up to 275 guests. Fully catered on-site with competitive pricing, and available for all kinds of events such as weddings, holiday parties, and quinceneras, the new event hall is sure to be a welcome addition to the area.

Simone said, “If my brides order 100 hog wings, and more guests show up, I can easily accommodate that right here on site.”

Menu items include BBQ foods, sandwiches, such as Uncle Mike’s Cuban sandwich, pulled pork, smoked chicken, and Uncle Mike’s Famous Hog Wings.

“The hog wings are our signature dish. No one has pork hog wings,” said Simone.

Uncle Mike’s will host a free open house, complete with food samplings, for the event hall on Tuesday, October 21 from 4–8 p.m. For more information, including employment, visit Unclemikesgrill.com or call 737-4444.
