This year’s Greater Riverview Chamber of Commerce (GRCC) Member Appreciation luncheon was held in July at The Regent. At the time, the 2017 Honorary’s Mayor of Riverview race officially ended. The candidates raised funds for various local charities, and with a crowd of over 270 guests gathered together to enjoy lunch catered by Lupton’s Restaurant and Catering, a proclamation was made announcing the new mayor.

James Pulkowski, CPA was escorted to the podium by Hillsborough County Sheriff Deputies Cliff Fletcher and Chris Former where the results were removed from a guarded brief case. Mayor Race Committee Chairs Robert Hintze, Waypoint Property Inspection and Melissa Hartmann, LeVel Thrive, were on hand as Tammy Holmberg, Chick-fil-A Brandon was announced as the winner. Holmberg, along with the other three candidates; Bryan and Marijean Reith, Aflac, Gary Bancroft, American Products of Tampa Bay, and Rendee Hughes, Turner Cole Company – Real Estate Services successfully raised over $40,000.

Holmberg was able to present a check to YMCA Camp Cristina in the amount of $14,092.20 at the chamber’s luncheon in August.

At that time, she was also presented a Count Commendation by Stacy White, County Commissioner for District 4, in honor of her fundraising efforts, her continuing dedication to this community and becoming Riverview’s 2017 Honorary Mayor.

According to GRCC Membership Director Debbie Kirkland, “This was our most successful Honorary Mayor of Riverview race to date. We are extremely proud of our candidates for the hard work they put into this event. Not only do their fundraising efforts support some very incredible charities, but they also support the Greater Riverview Chamber of Commerce. The board, the staff and all of our members salute them and say ‘thank you’.”

At the luncheon, Gary Bancroft, American Products of Tampa Bay, Inc. also presented a check of $756 to Faces of Courage. Rendee Hughes, Turner Cole Company – Real Estates Services presented a check of $3,975.02 to Mary and Martha House. Bryan and Marijean Reith, Aflac were proud to present a check of $5,739.40 to Aflac Cancer & Blood Disorders Center (Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta).
