Plant City Entertainment will present the third show in the Jones, Hope and Wooten trilogy about the Verdeen family of Sweetgum, Texas this May. If you are looking for a good laugh, come see Last Roundup of the Guacamole Queens beginning on Friday, May 5 at 8 p.m. Plant City Entertainment is located at 101 N. Thomas St. in Plant City.

Plant City Entertainment is offering a special price of two tickets for $20 for opening night only and available at the door.

Other performances will be held on Friday, May 12, Saturday, May 6 and 13 at 8 p.m. Sunday performances on May 7 and 14 will be held at 2 p.m. Tickets are just $16 for adults and $14 for seniors 60 and over and students 18 and under.

In this last play of the triology, Gaynelle, Peaches and Jimmie Wyvette, the Verdeen cousins, are hustling to organize a high school reunion before the old building is demolished. As with the first two plays (The Red Velvet Cake War and Rex’s Exes) which were performed by many of the same cast and directed by Kay Secord, hijinks are certain to ensue in this southern-fried comedy.

Secord said, “It has truly become a labor of love to breathe life and humor into the words of these three well-known and beloved authors. Jones, Hope and Wooten visited Plant City Entertainment when we were in production for Rex’s Exes. It was an honor and privilege for us to personally meet the people whose work we truly love to perform. We invite everyone to come to our show and laugh long and loud at the love and chaos that is part of the Verdeen family and their family business, Wide Bride, wedding gowns for Texas-sized women.”

Dodie White, president of Plant City Entertainment said, “You need to be prepared to laugh at these zany characters when you come to see Last Round Up of the Guacamole Queens. The cast and crew have worked very hard to make sure this is a fun night for everyone. It will be an evening to remember.”
