Cambridge Christian School in Tampa, was the site of a National Kicking Rankings camp in March. Coach Brian Jackson of Team Jackson Kicking, from Alabama, Chris Husby of Special Teams Football, from Minnesota, and Coach Tom Feely of Feely Athletics from Florida had teamed up to launch a new rankings platform for kickers, long snappers and punters.

Students received expert training and were evaluated for the NKR National Ranking, and had the opportunity to get ranked locally.

Legendary kicking coach Tom Feely hosted the camp. Fifteen of Feely’s students made it to the NFL, most notably, Jay Feely, who played for 14 seasons in the league and is now a football commentator and analyst for CBS. Other students include current NFL punters Matt Boscher and Brad Pinion and kicker Cody Parkey. Most recently, one of Feely’s top students, and the number one ranked punter in the nation, Aiden Swanson, committed to play football for Clemson University.

“Our goal, nationally, is to provide a way for high school and junior college kickers, punters and long snappers to get effective exposure to enable their recruitment campaign to get a powerful boost,” said Feely. “To me, the most important thing is that the attendees will also be ranked in the state of Florida and in the Tampa Bay area. This gives them three different chances to get an impressive accolade for their recruitment resume, all in just a one-day camp!”

The first NKR took place in December 2017 in Pearl, Mississippi and subsequent camps have been held in Alabama, Minnesota and Orlando. The camp included in-depth instruction on effective strategies for getting recruited and advice on topics such as developing the mental skills needed by football specialists.

Coaches Jackson, Husby and Feely have decades of coaching experience with great success. Each has developed a stellar reputation of integrity and all three are highly respected in the field of coaching.

There will be future NKR camps all over the country.
